Who is Million Meals Maine?

We are Maine people making a world of difference to starving children…one meal at a time.

Through annual packing events, our community rises to the challenge of helping to feed the world. We’ve packed almost half a million meals since 2014 so far with your help….and we’re not done yet!

For our inaugural event in 2014, hundreds of Maine volunteers of all ages gathered in Center Court of the Maine Mall, where 106,000 meals were packed in a single afternoon. Local news station WMTW covered the event.

In our most recent event, students from several local high schools worked all morning together at our host location, Deering High School in Portland, Maine.  With their involvement, and the support of hundreds more community members that evening, this was the largest Million Meals Maine packing event to date!

With over 1,500 volunteers in attendance and a goal of packing 250,000 meals, everyone worked fast. By 8:00 pm, a total of 264, 384 meals were packed in one day! This meant that 724 children were able to eat for an entire year thanks to Maine volunteers and donors.

How can you help?  Donations are always needed to cover costs for the meals we pack. Every meal costs 22 cents, so every dollar counts. You can donate right on our website, or contact us to be a future event sponsor.
